A place-based approach to promoting healthier food and drink

The DHHS Healthy Choices policy guidelines are now available to support healthy eating across multiple settings, including hospitals and health services, sport and recreation centres, parks and workplaces on the Health promoting environments and healthy food choices webpage link.

The set of resources also includes the food and drink classification guide that uses a traffic light system to categorise foods and drinks as GREEN, AMBER or RED.  The Healthy Choices guide uses a place-based approach to promoting healthier food and drink, and support Victoria’s efforts to increase healthy eating and prevent obesity and chronic disease.

The Healthy Eating Advisory Service provides support to implement the Healthy Choices guidelines across the settings.
