The Royal Commission into Family Violence highlighted the important and differentiated roles that a range of workforces play in responding to family violence and in the prevention of violence against women and their children. In recognition of the importance of these workforces, the Royal Commission recommended the development of a 10 year industry plan for family violence prevention and response in Victoria, to be delivered by December 2017.
The Royal Commission also highlighted the lack of detailed knowledge and systematic collection of workforce data about family violence in Victoria. The Workforce Census seeks to address this knowledge gap by collecting data from across the range of workforces that play a role in preventing, identifying and responding to family violence. The Census is an opportunity for you to highlight key workforce issues that are of concern to you.
This data will aid Government in ensuring that the 10 year industry plan demonstrates an informed, detailed and comprehensive understanding of Victoria’s family violence workforce. It will support effective industry planning to ensure that Victoria’s family violence workforces are recognised, valued and skilled.
